Private Counselling in Congleton

If you're looking for an independent counsellor in Congleton, you may be wondering what private counselling actually involves and how it differs from other services. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and uninterrupted space, so you can decide whether working with me feels right for you.

My approach is person-centred, which means we cultivate an equal relationship: no one else can be the expert of your life but you. You lead the direction of each session, discussing what feels right for you each time.

Why choose private counselling

Working privately means you're choosing who you see, rather than being placed with whoever has availability. It also means the relationship is entirely between us: what you bring to sessions stays there, and the pace and direction are led by you rather than a set programme. Some people come because they've tried other routes and want something more personal; others simply prefer to arrange things privately from the start.

How to get started

Getting in touch can be a difficult first step, so I offer a free 20-minute telephone or online consultation before any session is booked. This gives us both a chance to talk about what's bringing you to counselling and how we might work together, with no obligation to continue.

Sessions and fees

Counselling sessions are available face-to-face in Congleton or online, and each session lasts one hour. Face-to-face sessions are £45, and online sessions are £40. You can find more detail on my prices page.

Your sessions are kept confidential, in line with the professional and ethical standards I work to. There are some limited circumstances, such as a risk of serious harm, where confidentiality may need to be broken; I'm happy to talk through what this means in your free consultation.
