Counselling for Anxiety in Congleton

Does worry feel constant, or turn up in ways that are hard to explain to the people around you? Anxiety can show up as racing thoughts, a sense of dread, difficulty switching off, or feeling overwhelmed by everyday situations. Everyone's experience of it is different, and there's no need to have the right words for it before you get in touch.

I offer person-centred counselling in Congleton and online, for people who want space to understand their anxiety rather than just manage the symptoms. This means we cultivate an equal relationship: no one else can be the expert of your life but you. You lead the direction of each session.

When anxiety counselling might help

Anxiety doesn't look the same for everyone. For some people it's panic that arrives out of nowhere; for others it's a quieter, constant hum of worry that never quite switches off. You might notice yourself replaying conversations, dreading things before they've even happened, or feeling anxious in social situations that never used to bother you. Sleep can suffer too, whether that's trouble drifting off or waking with your mind already racing. If any of this feels familiar, you don't need a label for it before getting in touch.

How counselling can help with anxiety

Together we can explore what tends to trigger your anxiety, the patterns and thoughts that keep it going, and what helps you feel more grounded. Counselling isn't about fixing you or promising anxiety will disappear; it's a space to be heard without judgement and to build your own understanding of what you need.

Face-to-face and online sessions

Sessions take place face-to-face in Congleton or online, whichever feels more manageable for you. Each session lasts one hour. I also offer a free 20-minute telephone or online consultation before we begin, so we can talk through what's bringing you to counselling and how we might work together.

Face-to-face sessions are £45, and online sessions are £40. You can find out more on my prices page.

Frequently asked questions

Counselling can't promise to remove anxiety, and I wouldn't want to claim otherwise. It offers a space to understand what's happening for you and to explore what helps, at your own pace.

No. You don't need a diagnosis or the right words for what you're feeling. Many people come to counselling simply knowing that anxiety or worry is affecting their life.

Sessions are available face-to-face in Congleton or online, whichever suits you best. A free 20-minute consultation is available before you book.
